From Christopher Hjort's So You Want to Be a Rock 'N Roll Star: The Byrds Day-By-Day 1965-1973 (London: Jawbone Press, 2008): The Byrds concert collides with Derek & the Dominoes' debut at the Fillmore East, hampering attendance in the 2,500-seat theatre. The first show pulls about a quarter of the hall's capacity, although the second show is better visited. John Koegel in the Hofstra Chronicle (October 29) notes how 'Take a Whiff on Me' is now dedicated to Spiro Agnew, a spin McGuinn has introduced after the Vice President's recent broadside against drugs in popular culture.

I ride by here on the D train every workday morning. I am too new to NYC to have visited it for film or music but it is still a grand structure even in its dotage. Thanks for posting!
